Tourism is one of the essentials in the Egyptian economy; it contributes by 11.3%to The Gross national income (GNI) ,offers19.3% of total hard currency revenues and employs 12.3% of labor force. TDA since its establishment and up till now , is supporting the national economy by developing tourist area that fulfils the general strategy of Egypt.

Tourism is a source of cultural and civilized communication that helps to formulate the national identity and to reduce the social gaps among people , it consumes work capabilities in administration, organization , public relations, communication and social services ;tourism is one of the indicators of any nation, s progress and development. The state's policy is concentrating on tourism development as a national and social demand and being the second factor contributing to the GNI . All patterns of tourism and all services related to it are highly concerned . Political stability and security are important to attract tourists especially after introducing new tourist patterns that match all social levels or ages.

In modern age, Mass media is one of the tools that draws the state image in the world and tourism is equally playing an impressive role in guiding the public opinion by the hospitality and direct interaction with tourists. For a long time , tourism had depended on the cultural and historic heritage scattered along the Nile valley but now , Egypt is enriching the nature of the western desert.

Recently tourism is booming due to the concerted efforts of all entities to improve Egypt's position in the world tourism map . In addition to old monuments we can turn to nature with rich flora and fauna surrounded by old and contemporary culture, we have also new activities like mountain climbing, bird watching, camping and exploring forests , rocky mountains and safari . Ecotourism depends on exploring virgin areas that are mostly natural parks like the Red sea , Aqaba gulf, Ras sudr and Sukhna.The potentialities of these sites enable them to become one of the most important spots of recreation and coastal tourism on both of the domestic and the international level .

No doubt that Egypt enjoys historic and natural potentialities that attract tourists from all over the world to reach 8.5 million tourist / year and in order to comply with the progressing needs of tourism development and the major role played by the private sector, a number of laws are enacted to encourage investors from the private sector to cooperate with the government which leads to increasing demand on tourist areas and launching giant projects to benefit from the privileges offered to investors like the short payback period ,the low breakeven point and the high average of profits after operation .

TDA was established to guarantee a professional and flexible interaction with investors by a highly qualified staff of technical experts who are ready to introduce the latest scientific trends of planning ,investment and development .
